Personal

Peace, love, and happiness in Ottawa — and the cost of fighting for them.

“My sins of omission and commission I do not deny; but I trust that it may be said of me in the ultimate issue, ‘Much is forgiven because he loved much,’ for I have loved my country with a passionate love.” ~ Sir John A Macdonald

We spent another several days in Ottawa. Stayed with two wonderful families who took us into their homes for free. Met amazing people, just like last week.
I will never forget this experience and I am so thankful. We ended up leaving the day before the police escalation got started. It would seem that was the timing God allowed for us – my husband had been spending lots of late nights in the thick of it and willing to accept peaceful arrest, but it seems that was not what he was called to at this time. For what it’s worth, I admire him more than ever and I am thankful to be his wife. I have no doubts he would have gone through with it, for our future and the future of this country as a whole.
We remain with our brave countrymen in prayer! God keep our land!

The mood was somber on Thursday as rain and fog covered the hill.

There were actually a LOT of people there, but I didn’t get a good photo of the main crowds.

Another photo where 80% of the crowd is cut off. This was taken in front of the National War Memorial. We sang the national Anthem with a large group of veterans and supporters while the truck horns blew on the final day of the “Jericho walk”. I cried. It was an incredibly moving moment.

On the lighter side, these funny guys were back in their leftist tears hot tub. This time playing with toys, LOL.

My kids had fun – of course, they were never in any danger. The police presence was high the entire time we visited (both trips), but it was only Friday when they started becoming violent. They learned lessons for a lifetime – some that bring me pain, especially in regard to the police who I have always supported and respected.

I hope by now, everyone has seen the video of the elderly woman with a walker being trampled by mounted police during the protest. Her final words to police before being injured (thank God, she seems to be okay, per reports):

You guys are breaking my heart! [This movement] is peace, love, and happiness. We are a peaceful protest!”

Please, pray for the country of Canada. God’s “Dominion from sea to sea” (Psalm 71:8 in the DR/Psalm 72:8 otherwise) must be defended. I will not forget what this country is.
